Rule #1

There were no signs of trouble, even the can is just a coconut water.

If you decide to get into adventures in the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, we strongly recommend you to put your eye on Nevis. Not because adventures await you there under every bush, quite the opposite - Nevis is wonderful, beautiful and safe. But if you choose which hospital to ask for help - a hospital Nevis definitely win this match. How do we know? It's obvious - we had a couple of opportunities to test it both.

I’m less talented candidate for Darwin Awards, than our gorgeous Snow White, who tried poisonous fruits, and my adventures are much more banal.

Have to say from the very beginning - it was not my first date with sea urchin. Previous took place several years ago in Thailand, the sea urchin there was much more insensitive and my feet suffered much much harder. However, this fact has not reduced neither pain, nor panic.

So, the rule number one - no matter how gentle Caribbean Sea is, do not swim in rocky waters or if it is full of seagrass. Rule number two: read all warnings at the beach bars!

The story is quite simple: the sun, the beach, the Caribbean, intolerable desire to swim and here we are, start running to the water without watching anything, including the step. A five-minute swim, and a sharp pain in the toes, which can not be confused with anything, if you ever stepped on a sea urchin. Next moment -an abusive screeching all around and a swim to the shore, worthy of Olympic medal.

Look at that. The Nature, please tell me, why???

Look at that. The Nature, please tell me, why???

If you decide to repeat the feat, there is one thing you should know - there are always someone on  the beach who will provide you the first aid and the help with extricating painful spines from your wounded feet. This knowledge will make you a bit calmer, but will not reduce the pain. So it is better not to repeat.

Call to a friend, a five-minute trip to the hospital, and - voila! you are in the hands of the most attentive, caring and empathetic doctors Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, which offer a choice of: a painkiller injection or an ibuprofen pill, say that you will not die and will advise a simple and affordable way to extract fragments of the sea urchin from your toes. And still advise to buy ABC and learn how to read the warnings in the beach bars. Another couple of hours and you will recall this story as a fun adventure, nothing more.

One good thing about such kind of stories - it’s your chance to realize that someone unexpectedly can become your friend.
